The EPOCH study is a randomised controlled trial that aims to assess the safety and efficacy of Selective Internal Radiation Therapy (SIRT) for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) that has spread to the liver. Patients are randomised to receive either:

  • Second-line chemotherapy alone
  • Second-line chemotherapy with SIRT

As SIRT only treats patients with liver tumours, the trial only accept patients whose cancer has the following characteristics:

  • Stable primary colon or rectal cancer
  • Liver metastases only
  • Patients who have received a line of chemotherapy with either oxaliplatin or irinotecan

If you are interested in participating, please contact your physician about the possibility of joining the trial. Your treating physician will assess your suitability for joining the trial, and refer you to the nearest participating centre. Otherwise, you can get into contact with members of the trial team directly – the details of which are available by clicking the button below.
